We all love social posts, “ hey! what is going on in the world? here!”
More like, “ What content are you passing across to the world?”
Some of us are hell bent on following trends on social media without a real direction or purpose. We just want to try and make sense out of no sense really. Don’t everyone need a place to fit in? What’s your place by the way? Can it be well serving?
I read somewhere that it is not enough to show up for whatever goals we pursue, you must also form the habit of showing up; a consistent drive that nudges you out of bed saying, this goal must work.
Most of us forget that besides the everyday inspire me posts and affirmations, your random presence and bookmarked pages of tasks to be done or rather a checklist, whatever tickles your fancy when it comes to work or getting something achieved, even if it is a random joke or social media trendy post,
It takes more steps to actualise what you stand for as an individual and on what toes you render those steps.
Something struck me in the story of Jesus. A very critical yet subtle message lies in how Jesus went about preaching the gospel so that people can be saved. Jesus had authority because he knew the onions of his preaching, he needed no reference like the scribes. He had actions backed by words. He was open, plain, truthful, not spending his time in trifling disputes or debating question of no importance but confirming his doctrines by miracles and justified argument; teaching.
Jesus had his eyes on his goals.
What exactly do you stand for as an individual?
And Hey! Can we know your message for real!
While we can agree that most people’s dreams or vision path is not so clear to them and some are dwelling on how to make more money, get a good paying job and build a house on gold street, we should ask ourselves these questions; in all this living, what is my end goal? What is my value worth and what message am I passing across?
Knowing what you stand for can make you one of authority.
The power to cause change without directly forcing it to happen is what authority represents, a convincing influencing force that tells people this is your message to the world. And your consistent showing up to pass this message builds your authority the more.
Know What Content To Tell.
We all have certain interests and ideas that gets to us, there are certain issues and problems that we would like to address on platforms. Fixate your energies on passing your knowledge on these issues. How? By finding out what works for you. Think solutions and how to eradicate or alleviate the intensity of problematic issues. And remember to tell us your message first, acquaint us with it before trying to sell your self.
Your message will ultimately market and sell your skills.
Throwing in a joke or two once in a while does not hurt, but really, we are tired of seeing this triteness and cliche stuffs everyday. The world is a market place that needs marketable and solution providing skills.
The world is not just there to be entertained, it needs boundary breakers and influencers who would step up and deliver phenomenal content to the world.
Your Content and Content Map Is Your Message To The World.
And every other means you choose to deliver this message. Your message is your authority and it is not for you alone. Jesus said “ my doctrine is not mine but he who sent me.” whatever ideas or content you have is not yours to hoard.
Command this authority by working on building your content and your voice.
What is your message, how well do you know your message? Note, your content also helps to build your brand voice because it represents who you are, what you deliver and on what authority you possess such delivery.
